Perfect Balance 2, a sequel that isn't a waste of your time!

It isn't often that we see sequels in the Flash game market. Occasionally you will see a new addition to a room-escape game, but it's rare to see a bona fide, better-than-the-original sequel -- they're a bit like films in that regard (Toy Story 2 is the only film in history that's better than the original, I swear). But here's Perfect Balance 2, the perfect successor to the massively successful (and also perfect) Perfect Balance. Is it possible to be 'more perfect'? Infinity plus one? Hmm.

The concept is incredibly simple: obey the laws of physics and balance shapes. It's like Tetris, but cooler. If you've played the original, you'll be able to leap straight in and continue as if you're playing some new levels. If you're new to this particularly fun mechanic, all you need to know is that A and D rotate the pieces. That's it: rotate and place blocks. If any piece hits the ground, you fail. Perfect Balance 2 has just one new mechanic -- you get bonus points by stacking little gems on your completed construction. There's even a leader board for total points and total gems stacked -- if you're a perfectionist, you might be stuck with this game for a long, long time.

An incredibly simple concept and perfectly implemented, Perfect Balance 2 is a joy to behold. You can play it for 5 minutes or 5 hours, it doesn't matter -- all that will change is your level of frustration as the blocks resolutely refuse to defy gravity. And then something clicks and the frackin' obvious solution that has evaded you the entire damn time suddenly makes itself known -- and voila, you have perfect balance.

Play Perfect Balance 2 now! [There's also an iPhone app version of the previous incarnation, and it's free!]
