Holiday Savings Battle! Google Checkout vs. Bing Cashback

Whether you like your savings up front or in the form of cashback, the major search engines would love to trade a little dough for your business. Microsoft has been trying to entice people into using Bing for their searches this holiday season by teaming up with retailers to offer cashback on purchases found through a Bing search.

There are some pretty good Bing deals out there - 20% cashback, in some cases! - even if it does take 60 days before you'll see the money. The variety of retailers Microsoft has hooked up with for Bing Cashback is actually pretty impressive, and it looks to be worth signing up if you intend on shopping with several of them.

Bing isn't the only search engine in the holiday cashback arena, though. The heavy hitter in the other corner is none other than Google. Google Checkout is offering its own holiday bonuses, according to the official Google Blog. Instead of offering cashback, Google's going right for the up-front discounts. They may be small ($5-20 in most cases), but they're worth using. Check out (bad pun intended) the new Checkout Deals page to see which stores are offering the discounts.
