While you may be familiar with Frostwire - the Gnutella app built on Limewire's open source code - you may not have heard about Frostclick before. It's an effort to give exposure to great free (legal) content like software, music, and videos which you can download, of course, using Frostwire (or your preferred client in most cases).
Just over a year ago, Frostclick and Frostwire joined forces to find high-quality content producers who were down with the P2P sharing concept. A million downloads later, the project is a smashing success - and Frostclick is celebrating by giving away free music!
You can download the celebratory 1,000,000 downloads and counting compilation album via torrent [direct torrent link]. The download also includes a virtual booklet with two high-resolution pages devoted to each artist.
Projects like this are a great way to discover new music - and I'll be adding it to our massive list of places to download free MP3s.
