Wondershare Time Freeze supposedly freezes your computer in time

Filed under:

Wondershare Time Freeze

I wish I could review Wondershare Time Freeze. I really do. On paper, it sounds like a wonderful product, especially for a software blogger or tester.

It's supposed to "freeze" your system in a certain state but still allow you to install software. You switch on system protection, install whatever you want to install, test it, and then roll back.

Ah, but you can do the same with Quick Restore Maker, I hear you say. That's true in theory. In practice, though, when Windows rolls back to a previous restore point, I am not entirely sure what it rolls back to. I feel as though I don't have complete control over the process. Maybe I just need to learn more about System Restore, but somehow, the Time Freeze paradigm seemed more appealing.

If only it really worked, that is. The program is free, and in this case, I really got what I paid for. Maybe it's because I'm running 64-bit Windows, but that's just a guess. You can see how informative the error message was (I restarted my computer). No information was to be found on Wondershare's site, either.

If you have better luck with the program or know of a better solution, please share in the comments. I want to "freeze" my system, install software, test it, and then roll back smoothly and fully (not just uninstall, but undo all changes that the program made to my system).
