Exit Path is one of the slicker time wasters that I've seen recently. You are a "runner" (just a guy who can run and jump around), and you have to traverse a gruesome obstacle course in a bid to save your own life.
Each level is full of surprises like swinging blades, lasers trying to fry you, rows of sharp steel teeth chomping down right when you run by them, and all sorts of other life-threatening attractions.
Not everything on the course can kill you, though; there are triangles of "flair" that you can collect (kind of a sissy name, considering the game), teleporters that beam you to a different place on the screen, checkpoint flags that you come back to when you die, and conveyor belts that work to make you run faster or slower.
The devil is in the details, and like most games of this type, it's the details that make this game very playable and loads of fun. The graphics are sparse-looking, but the animations are super-smooth. It seems as though you get an endless supply of lives - the only limit is your patience. Every time you die you get a quick "action replay," showing the last few meters of your trajectory so that you can see exactly where things went wrong with your maneuver.
When you run forward far enough and then hit the space key, you get a "flow," which is a really cool gliding-forward effect; you're almost flying. You can "flow" over gaps in the level, but you need enough momentum to do it. You need a long flat surface to run on so that you can charge your "flow" meter.
You can easily find yourself spending quite a bit of time with this game. Don't say I didn't warn you!
