2009 data breach hall of shame

We'll throw this in the "Whoops" category.

ComputerWorld took some time
to outline some of the best (or worst?) data security breaches of 2009. While the actual events might not have been too funny to the people involved, the blunders the technology world has dealt with are pretty comical now that they're safely resolved.

Some of the highlights include the TSA getting a little too "open", releasing a 93-page manual outlining their airport security screening procedure. Everything from how to use the equipment, handling dignitaries and automatic screening of individuals from certain countries was available for everyone who caught it to download.

Another personal favorite of mine is the leak of a document containing detailed military information on hundreds of civilian nuclear sites and juicy bits about the U.S. nuclear weapons program.

Check out the ComputerWorld article for a complete list of techno-blunders and let's hope for a much more secure 2010!
