Opera outs another 10.5 alpha snapshot: still fast, now with Google Reader action!

Opera's dev crew has been busy toiling away at version 10.5, and while they're not quite ready to make the jump to beta (despite reports to the contrary) they have just released another snapshot build.

Build 3199 is all about tweaks and patches. The functionality you'll get has been present in Opera 10.5 since the original pre-alpha build back in December of last year -- things like the slick Windows 7 shell integration, per-tab private browsing, and the zippy Carakan engine. Curiously, the Peacekeeper result on my netbook was actually slower with the new build.

One other sticking point: the new build still hasn't been able to figure out what to do with Google Reader. The page simply quits loading after the first half inch or so. Hopefully this will be fixed once it's time for a genuine beta release - I've been extremely happy browsing with Opera 10.5 but the lack of Reader support is a deal-breaker for me.

ed: this has been fixed! Opera's team pushed a new update overnight which has corrected the Reader issue. Well done!
