Wikipedia just underwent a pretty significant refresh in the looks department. Here are some of the new features:
- The navigation menu now uses JavaScript and neatly folds and slides on click.
- The tabs on top of each page look different, and are actually easier to use.
- The editing toolbar is still quite busy, but it's been reorganized to make it simpler to use. I don't think there's any way to hide the richness of features it provides, so any reorganization to make it slightly simpler is welcome.
- They've got a new "link wizard" in the edit page, which lets you make sure links work when you make them, and find the correct page name you want to link to, without having to open another Wikipedia window.
That's the main stuff. They also created a new "table wizard" and refreshed the logo. I think this refresh has been long overdue, and definitely makes Wikipedia feel like it's newer. Now if only they added some accountability features so it would be harder to write false "facts" ...
