Facebook privacy controls will be simplified, says Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg took to the pages of the Washington Post today to address Facebook users' concerns over the site's complex and confusing privacy settings.

Zuckerberg said he's heard what users are saying, and that Facebook will respond by introducing a simpler set of privacy controls in the coming weeks. He said Facebook wanted to give users granular control over settings, but "we just missed the mark."

There's no word yet on how much simpler the new "simple" settings will be, or when they'll roll out, but Zuck did the right thing by addressing users concerns, especially with Quit Facebook Day coming up on May 31st. Whatever the privacy settings look like later this summer, they're sure to be less confusing than the more than 170 different privacy choices Facebook users have to navigate now.

Facebook privacy controls will be simplified, says Zuckerberg originally appeared on Download Squad on Mon, 24 May 2010 14:00:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
