CEO: Spotify will launch in the U.S. later this year

Our main man Nik Fletcher loves Spotify -- along with just about everyone else on the Continent who has access to the awesome streaming music service. And while just a few days ago it was unclear whether Spotify would ever make the trek across the Atlantic, today we've got a definite answer.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has now said that it's coming later this year to the U.S. In an interview with The Telegraph he also stated that the free U.S. product would be "pretty much" the same as the one offered in Europe, qualifying the "pretty much" by explaining that the upcoming version of the app will "alter the way that people consume the product in terms of sharing, discovery and music management."

So congratulations to our readers in America, you'll soon be able to enjoy Spotify's awesome service! And what about us Canucks?
