Of course, we'll hit all the other Twitter news too, so don't leave the room yet, iPad naysayers! We have some cool third-party services to talk about, as well as the latest feature update from Twitter HQ.
Without further ado ... let's Twitter Tuesday!
Before we get to the iPad stuff, here's the biggest update of the week to Twitter's web interface: that "popular tweets" feature I mentioned last week is now in place on search.twitter.com. The three most-retweeted search results for a given topic will now show up at the top of the page, along with how many times they've been retweeted. Third-party services can go more than three deep using Twitter's API, so it will be interesting to see how other apps incorporate this new search feature.
And now let's talk iPad. Some of the biggest names in Twitter clients have already come out with iPad versions, and Tweetdeck looks like an early favorite. It offers a completely revamped interface, designed to look nice in both landscape and portrait mode, plus a map view that uses Twitter's constantly-improving geolocation feature. It has the column view you've come to expect from Tweetdeck, allowing you to easily add, delete and rearrange columns (including saved searches, lists and trending topics).
