Skyfire, bolstered by the approval of Opera Mini on the iPhone App Store yesterday, is now looking to bring its super-powered web browser to the 'iDevices'. Under the ingratiating veil of congratulating both Apple and Opera for their good work, Skyfire's CEO Jeff Glueck isrubbing his hands with delight: you see, Skyfire, unlike Opera Mini, also supports Flash and Silverlight.
Skyfire is one of those 'hidden gems' of mobile computing. If you've tried Opera Mini, you should definitely give Skyfire a go -- it uses the same kind of server-side trickery to bring you decent browsing speeds on low-powered mobile devices.
Of course, Flash and Silverlight playback are the real feathers in its cap. Right now it's only available on Windows Mobile and Nokia phones, but as Brad reported, it should be coming to Android soon.
If Skyfire makes it to the iPhone (and iPad!), we'll see just how lenient Apple is when it comes to creative circumvention of its stringent, for-the-good-of-the-consumer rules.
