I've been pretty hard on Twitter-via-email services like Tweetymail in the past. Why filter a cool new technology through a declining old one? Well, I missed something really obvious, something that I don't have to think about as a writer: some people aren't allowed to use twitter at work. Just about everyone is allowed to use email, though!
That's why TweetyMail is actually cool. it's a way to sneak in a little stealth Twitter action when you're supposed to be filling out your TPS reports. Of course, you could also use it as your main Twitter application -- it's even mobile-phone optimized -- but I'm not sure why you would. Other than sending and receiving tweets via email, Tweetymail's features include auto-shortening URLs and photo sharing. Worth a look, if you're into that whole "email" thing.
