Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and Air 2.0 for Android nearing public beta

Adobe has announced that Flash Player 10.1 and Air 2.0 for Android are currently in private beta, with public beta versions coming soon. There's no official word on exactly how soon, but it can't be long now. In fact, there's already a signup to be notified when the Flash and Air betas open up.

Adobe blogger Lee Brimelow, famous for telling Apple to "go screw itself," is excited about the (non-Apple) mobile possibilities for Flash and Air, particularly on Android.

In his post about the new betas, he tells developers that they're going to have to learn a lot of new skills, especially around optimizing content for mobile devices. Whatever your opinion of Flash might be, this is definitely an exciting time for Adobe, with Flash and Air going mobile and Adobe Creative Suite getting a huge update soon.
