What it boils down to is that the crash-proofing kung fu could appear in more mainstream Firefox builds as early as this quarter. Firefox chief Mike Beltzner told CNet "It's something we want to get into users' hands. It's a noninvasive change, and not a change to the interaction of the browser."
That being the case, they'd like to ship it as a minor update - rather than as part of a new major version of the browser. Beltzner hopes that a beta release will be available in February and that the finished product will appear before the end of March.
